February 8th, 2004Short for “The Collecting Machine”.
The task was to develop a web-based system that should help gathering information for the book project “DreiStromLand“. The client was about to create a book about Niedersachsen, a region of Germany. The demographic characteristics, texts and images of every area, city and village had to be acquired and stored for later use during the production phase.
The tool helped organizing and collecting the data (images, texts etc.) on one central server with features like on-the-fly generated table of contents, general overview of missing data, multi-user work-flow and many more.
The whole system is written in PHP based on a MySQL DB
