bannedbooks was supposed to be a platform for writers & authors who have no publisher to support them. The website should give those people the opportunity to show their work to a large community of interested people who can then use a print-on-demand service to get a copy. The requirements were: WordPress as a blogging system, and an integrated management system for the authors, books and orders. Short for "The Collecting Machine". The task was to develop a web-based system that should help gathering information for the book project "DreiStromLand". The client was about to create a book about Niedersachsen, a region of Germany. The demographic characteristics, texts and images of every area, city and village had to be acquired and stored for later use during the production phase.
